NewsStats e' un droplet realizzato in Perl che permette di generare statistiche su di un file batch rnews contenente notizie provenienti da un newsgroup di usenet. NewsStats genera statistiche in formato testo e/o HTML circa varie informazioni, quali, ad esempio:

• autori delle news (numero di post, ecc.)
• newsreader utilizzati
• thread (i piu' seguiti, ecc.)

e molte altre ancora.

Per poter utilizzare NewsStats occorre installare MacPerl (vedi sezione link) ed avere un newsreader come MacSOUP che salva le news in formato batch rnews.
